200th Find

It had to happen sometime, though the circumstances leading up to it also prevented it happening. So it’s New Year’s Day. Not much is open. We’re off work. Sure the temperature is in the single digits, but what the heck: let’s go for it.

Some people probably relish the geocaches that require stealth. Not me. I’ll brave the nettles, the prickly ash, all of those dangers to the sport. The geo-husband gets the torch for the stealth finds. Number 198 was one of those caches. The second was more my style–down a ravine, hidden from view and all the time in the world to hunt. Funny thing though. I created a query to identify the winter friendly caches. Some people must define that differently. I mean, if you have to dig out from underneath snow, chisel away at it to dislodge it, it doesn’t strike me as friendly. Oh, well, there are the tracks in the snow that cut down the seeking time.

The third and final cache to number 200 was located on the shores of the lake. The wind was especially brutal. The find had to be quick because I was losing feeling in my fingers. A quick find and the ring for number 200 was mine. On to number 300.
