Celebrate the Outdoors
Here is an awareness month with geocachers in mind. Welcome to Great Outdoors Month!
Geocachers have a unique perspective on the outdoors. We get down into the duff to hunt for geocaches amidst all the leaf litter, discarded water bottles, and cigarette butts. We know the beverage tastes of the passersby. We know about cultural artifacts like broken CDs, lost cell phones, and other curiosities. We’ve seen it all.
We had an opportunity to experience a true outdoors experience this past weekend. Put it down to my wanderlust, but I had to get outside this past weekend. The aim was one virtual geocache, but we found so much more. I’ll be writing more of our trip to the Louisville Swamp unit at a later time. In the meantime, enjoy these reasons to experience the great outdoors.
