Choosing Hosting For Your Blog
Chances are that if you are a geocacher, you are a blogger. We can’t help it. We love boasting about our finds and the sometimes trials of geocaching. We love punishment.
If you are considering starting a blog, one avenue you may pursue is using a self-hosted blog. I highly recommend WordPress. As a blogging platform, you can’t beat it. The platform is SEO and search engine friendly. If you’re blogging and using affiliate marketing, this is good news. Your aim to to be found.
Your next choice is your web hosting. This is probably the single most important decision that you will make. There are so many choices for hosting. Doing a Google search will probably yield uneven results. Some people will have a great experience with any given host, others will not. What you want to do is to research your options.
Cheap isn’t always the best choice. Other things you want to consider are set up charges, domain cost, data transfer, and whether or not there is a money back guarantee. I’d also recommend taking a look at the control panel for each hosting site. Chances are you might not have to do a lot here, but you certainly want to find one that is easy to navigate. Many sites offer a demo view of it.
Other factors you want to investigate are customer service and tech support. You probably will have to contact one or both during the set up of your hosting and blog. Check out the reviews and the response time.
Blogging and geocaching are a natural. Checking out your options for reliable hosting of your blog will make your experience that much better.

In my opinion Blogger is the way to go. It’s part of google, has easy template modification for the computer impaired, and if you want your own domain you can get it thru them as well. Everything in one spot. I <3 it!
