Get Moving! Get Geocaching!
If you need a reason to get out and go geocaching, this is it. Welcome to National Physical Fitness and Sports Month!
As geocachers, you may think nothing of a 5-mile hike—as long as it leads to plenty of geocaches. For our part, geocaching is a powerful motivator to get out and hit the trails. There are several trails around where we live which can be considered “power trails”. You’ll find several geocaches along the way, prodding your down the path.
The idea of the find is very compelling. Once, we walked over 6 miles trying to complete a 10-part multi-cache. Fortunately, at the end, there was a prize—a geocache filled with over 10 travel bugs.
Geocaching is perfect if you are just starting your exercise plan. You can geocache and bike or walk or even jog. All you need is your GPS device and a pencil. If you need to workout slow, geocaching is there for you. You do have to stop and actually find the cache, don’t you?
Take the rest of this month to get outdoors and get moving. You may just find some extra geocaches.
